The second match in the Gauntlet proved more of a challenge. The Prince tried to utilize his speed once more, but Furiosa's aggressive tactics made it difficult. She quickly pressed him back, and the Prince tried to use his environment and agility to his advantage, but he couldn't find footing. The Prince slipped as the metal shifted under him. The Prince recovered with a roll, and made it back to his feet; but Furiosa was already on him; she swung a piece of metal debris and hit the Prince in the jaw. Blood poured from his lip as he was knocked back, and Furiosa pinned the Prince down, throwing repeated punches.
Back in the arena, Starkiller watched uneasily. He didn't know weather or not this whole Gauntlet was part of their enemy's plans, or if this was just an unfortunate circumstance. Still, the Prince wanted to do this alone and Starkiller was determined to respect his wishes. "Let's just hope this ends quickly," Starkiller said to himself. The longer he was here, the more he risked being attacked.
Eventually, the Prince got a hold of something he could use, a pipe that was long enough and light enough to be used as a sword. This gave him the advantage he needed. He ducked a punch and swept Furiosa's legs with the pipe. He pointed his weapon at Furiosa and demanded, "Surrender."
"Never!" Furiosa barked.
"Alright then," he said, smashed the pipe against her face and knocking her out.
The Prince went back to the trainer, where his cuts were stitched up. He took a lot more punishment in this fight than he had in the last one. "Well, your jaw's cracked," the medic told him, putting his x-ray up, "and there's some bruising on your ribs. We can treat it - heal you up completely actually."
"You can heal bruised ribs?" The Prince asked.
"It's New Khazan; we have doctors who can stitch your heart back inside your chest if we get you there in time. The only catch is, you're in the Gauntlet. I can patch you up, tape your wounds, get you in fighting shape. But to preform anything major, I have to remove you from the fight. Still, 2 thousand dollars ain't bad."
"No," The Prince said, "It's more than that."
"Ah, yeah, the pride of the fighter, the thrill of victory! I've heard it before. Alright, go on, if you're still up for it."
The Prince walked back down the entrance ramp. As he walked, the boxing ring was lowered through a panel in the floor. A caged octagon ring was lowered in it's place.
The announcer stepped in, "Once again, we welcome the Gauntlet's challenger; THE PRINCE OF PERSIA!"
The crowd cheered him as he stepped into the ring. And a referee handed him a sword. The blade of the sword was dulled, and had a cover to further protect from causing any serious damage. He smiled, despite his injuries this was a weapon he was familiar with.
"And his opponent. The third fighter representing the gauntlet. Here he is. ATTILA THE HUN!"
The warlord rode down the entrance way on horseback, murder in his eyes. He dismounted before entering the ring and drew his sword. It was given the same safety measures as the Prince's - keeping Attila from killing the Prince. But that doesn't mean the Hun wasn't ready to try.
As the fighters faced off the match begun.
The Prince is fighting with bruised ribs and a cracked jaw, as well as multiple stitches. Both fighters are equipped with swords. Attila is a 100 percent.
