"In that narrow pass, their numbers will count for nothing..."
"Their numbers will count for nothing..."
"Their numbers will count for nothing..."
"Count for nothing..."
Leonidas's words echoed in his mind as he watched this lone warrior slash through each one of his soldiers. Starkiller brought buildings down around them, shoved waves of men aside with a flick of his wrist, cut through their weapons, and fired blasts of lightning. And in the end, Starkiller hardly tired. And in moments, it was down to Starkiller and Leonidas. "They fought well," Starkiller said.
"As will I," Leonidas said, gripping his spear tight and thrusting it forward. Galen grabbed his arm with the force, stopping Leonidas, before slicing through him with his lightsaber. And just like that, it was over.
Galen stood in the wreckage, wondering what his next move was. His two allies were dead, which allowed him to arrive at the Pop Culture district. He was looking for the Prince of Persia, but had no idea where to start. That's when the district lit up, and an electronic billboard shined with his name "STARKILLER".
The letters vanished, and a live stream began to play as Stephen Colbert appeared on the screen, "Nation, in this special welcoming edition of the Colbert Report, I invite the Pop Culture District's newest arrival - Galen Marek A.K.A Starkiller - to discuss his recent slaughter of the Spartans, why he's a wanted criminal throughout New Khazan, and see if he'll tell us what his plans have to do with our home district." Starkiller knew a trap when he saw one, but the Pop Culture district was notably the weakest district. This might just be his best bet at getting answers.
Before he could decide, however, the city around him changed. The fallen bodies vanished. The buildings shrunk in on themselves. And before long the city had morphed into a studio.
A crowd of people cheered, "STEPHEN, STEPHEN, STEPHEN!"
As Starkiller sat at the table, bewildered at what just happened, as he saw Stephen Colbert sitting at his desk. Colbert addressed his audience, "TONIGHT! We discuss the Gauntlet; and why so few of the participants are wearing gloves. Also, I think question why we live in New Khazan, how new can it be? I've lived here my whole life? And finally, my guest has only reciently arrived in the Pop Culture district and is already responsible for the death of 300 men! But can he see why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch? This, is the Colbert Report!"
After waiting patiently through the intro Galen attempted to use his force lightening to fry his charismatic captor, but nothing happened. He searched for his light saber, but it had vanished. He even found trying to stand to be pointless. And so he sat through Colbert's entire shtick, until the host finally wrapped up and moved to the interview. When Colbert at in his opposite chair, Galen instantly tried a force choke. His powers again failed him, and Colbert laughed playfully. "Going for the choke already? I usually save that for the third date."
The crowd laughed, and Galen grew more frustrated. "Sorry Mr. Killer. Or should I call you Star?"
"Galen is fine," he said through his glare.
"Alright, well sorry Galen, your force powers won't work here."
"And just why not?"
Colbert reached into his pocket and pulled out the a small ring, with elvish words inscribed around it, "Because I have the One Ring."
Galen looked at him blankly for a moment, before saying, "But... That doesn't make sense?"
"Oh it doesn't have to, you're on my show, and on my show I'm in charge."
Galen took a deep breath, fighting was pointless. He figured he could use this time to get some of the answers he needed. Putting on a fake smile, he said, "Sorry about all that, just had to test my powers. The rules are so different district to district."
Colbert nodded, "All is forgiven."
"So, obviously I'm new around here," Galen said, "Tell me about this Gauntlet? You really peeked my interest."
A bit of a more light-hearted fight. To win Galen must out play Colbert and get him to tell him where he can find the Prince. Colbert, on the other hand, using his satiric and interviewing skills is trying to figure out what Galen's plan is.
