The Official Match Competition is finally upon us. Over the course of the next month and a half I hope to see many members compete by creating engaging match ups that will be a joy to read. Below is a guideline of the rules and what the judges will be looking for.
GUIDELINES:
- The entries for the competition need to be posted in the OFFICIAL MATCHES FORUM.
- Also post an official entry in the comments below by giving the title of the match and creating a link to it in the comment.
- The final date to enter a match will be October 26th 2015 (no entires will be accepted after that date)
- The entries will be graded on a scale from 1 to 5 and the contestant with the highest grade wins.
- The entries will be graded on: Grammar, Characterization, Staying on topic for the theme, Creativity, and Organization.
- Grammar is obvious (punctuation, spelling, etc.)
- Characterization is how well you keep the characters true to their source material
- Staying on topic is how well the story follows the theme for the competition
- Creativity is how engaging and entertaining the story is
- Organization is how well the match up flows and doesn't jump around with random pieces of story thrown together
THEME:
Seeing as the Haunting season is upon us, a scary story is only right. The overall theme is Horror. To spice up the difficulty the story must involve a non super powered character and some sort of horror genre antagonist.
ex. Dracula VS The Winchesters
JUDGES:
xLEGACYx, Ruinus, and g4hardcore
PRIZE:
I will be offering a $25 dollar Amazon gift card to the winner.
So good luck to all of our contestants. We hope to have as many participants as possible. We are hoping that with this competition we will not only have fun ourselves but also encourage new members to join and be encouraged to participate. So give it your best to impress and lets have some fun exciting and scary matches for the month of October.
Note from DSKillz: As with the first tourney, the winner will also have their winning match inducted into the Outstanding Match Set-ups Thread and will also be given the custom title of Tournament Champion in his/her profile in some form or fashion.
2nd Note from DSkillz: If there are any characters that are not in the Database, be sure to request them in the name of making a tourney match and the staff will make adding them top priority. Of course, this doesn't always necessarily mean that every request will be possible to add, but we will make looking into at least trying to add them top priority all the same.
