Darth Vader was certain that he had an advantage over his companions. Neither Worf nor Black Manta seemed to have any
extra senses. Black Manta had the benefit of his armor’s sensors, but that was nothing compared to The Force.
The corridor leading out of the main hall where the others were was short and narrow. Emerging into a much smaller hall,
Black Manta veered off to the left. He refrained from informing the others, but water was nearby. He suite had special sensors
to detect it.
“You have found something.” Darth Vader’s rumbling basso vibrated his eardrums.
“Just water.” Black Manta reported. He was cursing to himself. There was no hiding things from this guy.
“It is useless to keep secrets, Black Manta.” Vader warned. “I can sense your feelings.”
“Then you should have sensed her.” Worf pointed.
A woman wearing golden armor was sitting with her back to them. Upon Worf pointing her out, she turned around.
“You should not be here.” She said softly. It was a more disappointed tone than one of anger or even surprise.
Black Manta asked the obvious question. “Who are you?”
“I am The Goddess. No it is not me who brought you here. But I do know the reason why.”
All three remained silent, waiting for her to explain.
“Power is constantly fought over. My colleges and I have provided powerful items too tempting for many beings to ignore.
Meanwhile others would keep these beings from having them. We are observing the intricacies of interaction based on the
implication of gaining power.”
“A game.” Black Manta surmised.
“An experiment.” Worf clarified.
“See it as you will,” said the Goddess. “I will allow you to return to you companions with this knowledge.”
Darth Vader ignited his lightsaber. “I think not.”
Using The Force Vader lifted the golden armored woman out of her seat. He levitated her toward him, or more precisely,
toward his crimson light saber.
“You have until my lightsaber sears through you to tell me exactly what this is all about.”
“Stop!” Worf commanded. “She has told us enough!”
“She has told us riddles.” Vader growled. “Who is behind this?”
“If you kill her we will learn nothing else!” Worf shouted.
“Don’t worry big guy.” Black Manta cut in. “I think she’ll do a lot of screaming and a lot of telling before she does any dying.”
Worf’s blood began to boil. “There is no honor is acquiring information this way!” He aimed his phaser rifle at the Sith Lord.
“Stop now or I will fire!”
“I didn’t think you were that soft.” Said Black Manta as he raised his wrist.
Worf assumed there were weapons housed in the turret just past his wrist and swiftly re-aimed his phaser in the Manta’s
direction.
“Go ahead, Vader.” Black Manta said in his stand off with Worf. “I got this.”
