Earth
Sparks rained down on to the floor as Tony welded together a coupling to one of his new projects. He had been hard at work developing a device that could provide clean energy to the planet. The device involved kick starting the right particles to create a miniature star. Tony could feel it. He knew he was only days away from having the device up and running. He had recently learned on new developments from his travel with the guardians through the universe. He had been able to incorporate them into this design and hopefully provide a better world for all. He had been keeping the project secret from his fellow scientists in hopes adding another notch under his belt.
Oa
Hal Jordan had been busy as of late, seeing as how almost everyone in the universe was tricked into hating them. It had made any efforts to help protect and serve to be met with hostility and resentment. As he met with some of his fellow Lanterns, he was summoned by the Guardians. The Guardians voice echoed in the chamber, “Green Lantern Hal Jordan, a massive threat is developing on Earth. A man is developing a form of energy but he does not realize the danger it will pose. If turned on it will vaporize the Earth in moments. The being developing this power does not fully realize that nothing he can develop will contain the power he is working on. Lantern Jordan, it is your mission to destroy this machine before he has a chance to activate it. You must not allow this device to be activated.” Like usual Hal didn’t agree with the way the Guardians wanted things done but if they were right he couldn’t allow this fool to turn on a device that would destroy Earth.
The next day…
Tony was making his last adjustments to his new invention. If all went according to plan he could present his device to the public by the end of the week and hopefully help the planet by Labor Day. While working on his invention, Tony heard a knock on the window behind him. As he turned around he saw and green glowing figure hovering outside. Hal yelled through the window, “WE NEED TO TALK!” Tony gave the man his attention for a moment. Hal began, “What you’re doing, it is gonna destroy the world.” Tony chuckled and gave a little smirk, “Look pal, I’m the smartest guy on the planet. I know what I’m doing. This project of mind is going to change the world in a good way. I’ve gone over the specs myself, this device will work fine. So if you please, get out of my building.” As Tony reached for the switch to activate it Hal yelled, “STOP! I’m not going to let you turn that thing on you smug little egotistical ass!” Tony ignored Hal and as he reached again for the switch he was hit by a powerful beam of green energy. The blast knocked him into a wall across the room. Activating his armor, Tony rose to his feet and prepared to fight.
