Adriav's scan of the room would tell him little information that he didn't already know. Most of the party-goers were still preoccupied with drinks and conversations. Before anyone else could interrupt Adriav's train of thought, the large double doors leading the Apollo's Throne Room opened, signalling that it was time for the meeting to begin. Finally! Adriav thought. He drained the last bit of liquid from his glass and casually set it on the nearest table. He strategically placed himself near the throne room doors so he that he could be one of the first in. He continued his walk down the corridor leading to the throne room, a hand resting on his electro-whip

He continued his walk down the corridor leading to the throne room, a hand resting on his electro-whip The guards and entertainers would motion to the now open doors so that Apollo's mysterious meeting could begin. Adriav would notice that the corridor leading from the Guest Hall to the Throne Room was filled with more guards. Two rows of golden security droids that lined both walls. Each of them only two feet from the next. And all of them were armed with blaster rifles. They would appear to be offline. The end of the corridor was still a fair length away, but Adriav could see that more double doors were what waited for him at the end of it.

Illya flashed a smile at the Trandoshan brothers and took them up on their offer. Once seated, she bowed her head back at the wookiee and turned her attention to Cylan. She was curious what Apollo had tempted him with to get him to arrive here on Taris. And she had intended on asking him just that when a hushed whisper fell over the room.
The doors to Apollo's throne room had opened and caught the attention of the partygoers. She was no exception.
"I wonder what he's planning," she murmured partly to herself and partly to the pirates.

Even with the doors now open, the Pirate crew did not leave their seats. Instead, Cylan turned his attention to Illya. "I hear this proposition that Apollo is offering is some sorta reward. Getting all his contacts together for something big like this means he's got some dangerous intentions. I'm not liking what I'm seeing," Cylan said. As Cylan finished, a server droid approached the table and gave the crew their requested food and beverages. The crew would dig in as Cylan would quickly sip his drink and prepare to stand. Most likely he would follow those that were going to Apollo's Throne Room.

"Working with a Hutt is always dangerous," she told him in an attempt to ease his caution, "Maybe he's recruiting or expanding his reach. That would call for a gathering of this size..." When she noticed Cylan preparing to stand, she too rose to her feet. She wasn't a crewmember anymore. Ilya, herself, had been invited. She was one of the big Akk dogs now. "Let's find out."

The Kaleesh didn't give a response, but gave Illya a slight nod that they both would be leaving. The rest of the crew would stay behind. The two would find that though much of the crowd was heading into the open corridor, the majority of the guests continued with their business in the Guest/Lounge Hall. Perhaps not all of them were here because of the invitation. Once inside the corridor, Illya would find that their were many more guards here than there were behind her. All lined up against the walls, all droids. If Cylan were a betting man, he'd wager that Apollo had his own droid army. And that he wanted to show it off.

Adriav quickly made his way down the corridor and stopped short of the gilded double doors at the end. He wondered what exactly Apollo had in store for everyone tonight. He grew more impatient as the night went on. This was supposed to be a quick business meeting, and he expected to be leaving before the next rotation. But things are never so clear cut on Taris.
Adriav allowed himself a moment to close his eyes and take a deep breath. He knew he would need a clear head to conduct business, especially with Apollo.
"Let's get this over with."

The doors at the end of the corridor opened as the chosen guests approached from the Guest Hall. Inside was a dimly lit rotunda, half the size of the previous room and held twice the amount of security. It was obvious that this wasn't the throne room. Rather, it was a sort of meeting room with displays and holo-terminals placed around the room. The largest terminal that sat in the middle of the room, would draw the most attention as Apollo The Golden Hutt stood behind it, waiting on his guests to arrive. "Definitely not the usual meeting then...," A Twi-lek named Scratch said to her partner. "I don't like this," Cylan muttered. "Oh man, my big shot," Baron spoke to himself. "A bit unnecessary really. A conference call would have saved time," Zall said to one of his colleagues as they entered the room. More voices, both of concern and excitement, could be heard from the crowd. The conversations fell flat as a droid welcomed the guests. (Gold plated with Apollo The Hutt's symbol embedded on the chest piece)"Greetings honored guests. I am APH-1478 and I am here to formally welcome you the Apollo's Palace. Apollo The Great Golden Hutt would like to thank all of you for attending tonight on such short notice. He would like to invite everyone inside so that the meeting can officially begin. And of course, as a reminder, this meeting is being held under 'peaceful negotiations'. Violence in the presence of the Great Apollo is strictly forbidden at all times. Please enjoy your stay."

Illya looked from the droids, to the Hutt, to the terminals, and heard Cylan muttering under his breath. She nudged him silently as she walked into the meeting room. "Come on. Only one way to find out what's going on."

Adraiv walked in the round room, following the wall to the left as he entered. He glanced at a few of the holo-terminals as he passed before finally settling in a spot where he had a good look at Apollo and he could see all the individuals file in through the doors.
This wasn't exactly what he had in mind but Adriav was curious to what the golden Hutt had planned.
What he did know, however, was that he wasn't stupid enough to make a scene in front of Apollo himself. He's spent almost a decade getting on the Hutt's good side and they share, Adriav likes to think, a mutual respect for one another.
Adriav crossed his arms and waited for what would come next, whatever that may be.

The guests found their places on the other side of Apollo's holo-terminal.
"What's this all about Apollo? I thought this was a business meeting, not some bounty line-up!" Zall said to Apollo.
"Hey! I was told this was a Bounty line-up. It's the only reason I'm here on Taris in the first place," Morgan Coor said aloud in reply to Zall.
Others began to voice their opinions to Apollo and each other, but the chatter quickly died as Count Cornel spoke up from the crowd.
"Now everyone, please. We are in Apollo's presence now. Whatever this is about I'm sure he'll tell us. He is, after all, our host this evening," Cornel finished with a bow to the Golden Hutt.
*Translated from Huttese* "Ahhhh. I am pleased with the turnout," Apollo said as he signaled for the doors to be closed. And so they were.
The crowd would be able to hear the subtle lock of the doors.
"I trust you all found your accommodations to your liking. It wasn't easy getting some of you here, as I'm sure you are aware. Though, rarely does the Republic make anything easy these days," the Hutt said as he signaled for the activation of the terminals.
"Down to the business at hand. I promised many of you wealth to get you here. And I promised the prospect of expanding your influence. Tonight, I plan on giving each of you that opportunity. In fact, you could say what I'm offering is the opportunity of a lifetime," Apollo said as he gave his typical Hutt laugh.
Apollo pointed at the holo before him. A image of what appeared to be a stadium came into view. The structure looked large and newly built with Apollo's insignia on each side of this colosseum.
"This is my latest acquisition. The Republic's Tarisian Grand Arena. At least it use to be called that some 500 years ago. Now it's mine. The First Grand Arena of Apollo, The Great Golden Hutt!" Apollo said as his eyes fixated on the image.
"You are all here because I'm holding an important event inside of that colosseum. A chariot race! Something like the swoop or pod races you've seen before, but with much...much more at stake. Each and everyone of you will be my contestants. And before any of you refuse, know now that the winner of this race wins all of the loser's assets. Everything you own will be theirs for the taking. An all or nothing contest of the best!" Apollo's laugh this time seemed to fill the entire room.

A few of Apollo's men were now standing guard. She swore she had heard them locking the exit. She turned back towards Apollo and Cylan. "A race?" she whispered in disbelief, "He invited us here to compete with one another? No one is going to go for that..."

Adriav stood in bewilderment. The realisation that Apollo wasn't joking, washing over him in waves. His breath grew quick and heavy, his teeth bared, sharp incisors gleaming in the artificial light.
Adriav clinched a clawed hand around his whip, "THIS WAS NEVER PART OF OUR ARANGMENT, APOLLO!" he cried out, without thinking

Adriav clinched a clawed hand around his whip, "THIS WAS NEVER PART OF OUR ARANGMENT, APOLLO!" he cried out, without thinking Illya startled slightly from the outburst. Of course, she should have expected it sooner. Criminals weren't exactly known for their patience. She glanced over at the Zygerrian, then to Apollo, wondering if the Hutt would laugh it off or have the guards handle him.

Of course Apollo would get the reaction that he expected. People don't usually take it well when they're told that everything they own is being put up for grabs in a death race. Still, the Golden Hutt continued his laughter as his guests digested what they had just heard. The Zygerrian was the first of them to voice his concerns. Apollo, nor his entourage, gave any sort of reply. One could tell that the security droids in the room however, were standing alert. "A race?" she whispered in disbelief, "He invited us here to compete with one another? No one is going to go for that..." "No," Cylan responded. "This was the plan all along." "Is this some sort of joke, Apollo. Because I'm not fond of it!" Count Cornel shouted, obviously more unsure of himself than earlier. "I agree with the Zygerrian! This wasn't apart of our deal. I didn't sign on for one of your spectacles!" Ludwig chimed in. After a few complaints and questions, Apollo responded with a rumble in his throat, quieting the guests. "I told you all everything you wanted to hear and you came. I said there would be great opportunity here for you and that is what I am delivering. Don't complain because it wasn't what you expected. Be glad you are one of the few who get to be here," Apollo said. "And what if we choose not to participate?" A hooded figure asked from the back of the crowd. "Well then. I guess that means you don't wish to fight for your belongings. I said the winner gets everything and that's my guarantee. A winner with the wealth and power equal to over a dozen individuals players! A game unlike any other, don't you think?" Apollo finished as the images on the holo-terminal changed to displays of different types of chariots.
