Two droids, APH Units, stood blocking their way down the staircase. They were armed and had their blaster rifles aimed. "By command of the Great Apollo, no intruders are allowed to tamper with assets involved with the scheduled chariot race. Violation of this command will result in termination," said one of the droids. Illya froze when she saw them. She had JUST seen someone 'termintated' by Apollo's droids. The owner of this estate, even. She lowered the barrel of her blaster, but only by a small amount. "We're not tampering with anything," she told them, "Just looking. We'll leave..." She elbowed Cylan and whispered, "Lose the vine-silk..."

Cylan didn't take his eyes off the droids, "Hey now boys, you heard the lady. We're here on accident. We're guests..." The droids would respond only with blasterfire. When Cylan didn't drop the stolen drapery, Illya glared at him. And then he had the audacity to agree with her!?!? The subtle hum of the droids processors drew her attention back to them. She knew that noise. She knew what was happening. It was the same thing that had happened to Cornel. "Cylan..." she started, the best warning she could give in the short time she had left. To her right was another corridor. It would give her cover from the blasterfire. She dashed for it.

Cylan would follow Illya as fast as he could, firing back at the droids and letting the vine-silk drop to the floor. Cylan's blaster didn't do anything to the droids, as they continued their assault and moved closer to the their targets. Illya and Cylan would use the corridor as cover for as long as it would hold out, which wouldn't be long. Cylan fired twice more in the droid's direction, "We need to keep moving."

Illya was already ahead of him. She raced down the hall, targeting the last room on the right. It was against an outside-facing wall and was sure to have a window. If they could get outside, the droids were sure to stop chasing them. They just wanted to protect the house. And she just wanted to protect her ass-ets.... (Haha) "This way!" she called to Cylan over the noise.

(Haha) "This way!" she called to Cylan over the noise. Cylan would run into the room after firing three more shots toward the droids. "Apollo really knows how to pick his security. You find a way out yet?" Cylan would ask as Illya searched the room for a window to the outside. The room wasn't big, just a simple guest room with a few unique holo-statues and portraits to liven the place. There were three window slits in the room, but each of them were too small to slide through, even for Illya. The duo would notice that the droids had stopped firing, but were still headed in their direction. Cylan would offer his opinion on the matter, "Well, this room is useless. We need to circle around and get to the ground level. I can keep them at bay while you-" Cylan was cut off by the sound of Illya's holo-communicator going off. She was getting a call.

Who was the idiot that chose thin streaks of light as opposed to open panels and natural air!? Only an aristocrat from Serenno... Before she had a chance to answer, Cylan spoke up. "Well, this room is useless. We need to circle around and get to the ground level. I can keep them at bay while you-" Her holocom started ringing. Illya exchanged a panicked look with Cylan before clasping her hand over the communicator and silencing it. "Yeah," she said, breathless, "Let's circle around." She started for a door across the room, one that led to another room in the estate and, more importantly, further away from the droids. "Maybe there's another flight of stairs? Or a personal lift?... This place is too big to have one way to the ground floor..." She said all this at a quick pace, still trying to map out the estate in her head.

"Well go," Cylan would say as he would join Illya as they ran to the next room. Luckily, this room as more than one door that they could exit. After picking one of the exit doors, it would lead them to an old fashion staircase that would take them down to the ground level. Illya's communicator would continue to go off. "Someone really wants to talk to you," Cylan said. "Especially since the blockade has stopped most transmissions..."

After picking one of the exit doors, it would lead them to an old fashion staircase that would take them down to the ground level. Illya's communicator would continue to go off. Illya silenced it again and practically jumped the steps two at a time. There was only one person she guessed it could be... The one who had made her promise not to leave the apartment. The one who always asked too many questions. The one who had access to Republic transmitters even when Taris was in an emergency situation... "Someone really wants to talk to you," Cylan said. "Especially since the blockade has stopped most transmissions..." "We don't exactly have time to chat, now do we!?" she snapped, frustrated. "Let's just make sure we don't get shot first!" Once they reached the ground level, all they had to do was find a door --or window, she wasn't going to be picky.

From there, they were outside so it would seem as if they were clear from the droids. Cylan however, would continue to run. "Follow me, we need to get the to the Gypsy," Cylan said as he passed Illya. Illya's communicator stopped ringing, and instead began to beep. Signalling that the device was holding a recorded message.

"I landed on the opposite side," she told him, beginning to run in the other direction, "I'll be right behind you!" Cylan would have a brief opportunity to respond before she took off for the Sky-Wing on the landing pad. When Illya got to the speeder, she immediately got on and checked the recorded message. Cylan would wave his hand in response. She'd see him jump the edge of the walkway before turning to get to the Sky-Wing. Once at the speeder, she would check the message on her holo-communicator. It seemed a reasonable time to do so as the droids seemed to stop their pursuit. Apollo probably didn't want them to cause any commotion anyway with all the Republic troopers around. The message seemed to be, as predicted, from Vik. He was in his new uniform and seemed a little crouched in the way he was standing. As if he was hiding somewhere so he could have privacy. "Hey it's me. All comms have been scrambled by the blockade, but some of us here have gotten past it. Won't work for long, but I figured I'd check on you while I had the chance. Are you alright? The officials come by or anything?" Vik turned his head to the side as if he'd heard something then turned back to the recording, "I better get going. I hope everything is alright. I'll be back as soon as I can but I can't be sure how long this will last. Please be safe." The message ended.

But, at the same time, wasn't this common? Wasn't she always lying to him? Hell, they weren't even together... She glanced up at the estate to make sure that the droids hadn't decided to come looking for them and, begrudgingly, she started to record a message. "Vik, I'm fine. I left the apartment. And I took your bike... Sorry. Anyway, I've got friends on Taris and they're really freaking out about this blockade-situation. I went to go calm them down and I'll be back later. Just... don't fight any Sith, okay?" She forced a smile, cut off the holocom, started up the speeder, and went to follow Cylan.

There was no way of telling if Vik received the message, but there was hope that the message got through. In the meantime, Illya would fly through the Upper City until she found a junction where she could transition into the Middle City where the Gypsy was located. Once she'd arrive at the hanger that housed the Gypsy, she'd see that Cylan had also arrived. He apparently just landed on the landing platform when she arrived.
