When I watched the film the first time myself I did not care about her being overpowered, another huge Empire weapon being blown up by a stupid weakness, and all of that. I will say I have heard theories before of Rey being another Chosen One or a reincarnated Anakin Skywalker. I just want them to continue giving us good movies. If the story fits I don't care what route they go just keep up the good work.

Just to make it clear, I didn't think Rey was OP, but a lot of people apparently did. Nitpickers probably.
What kind of pissed me off is when some YouTuber compared the Star Wars franchise as currently owned by Disney to Minions, saying that both are equally overexposed and annoying. What I say to that is, who the hell would compare one of the greatest movie franchises in history, one that brings happiness to people all over the globe whenever a new film is released, to the goddamn Minions? Minions are legitimately annoying and apart from their inherent annoyingness, the main reason why they are is because they are undeservingly overexposed and merchandised too much. Star Wars is actually great and expansive, and beloved by I'd say most people in the world rather than just kids, so it only makes sense for Disney to actually pay attention to it.
I realise that I definitely sound like an over defensive Warsie, and it's all his opinion and that, but... Star Wars... Compared to Minions... I just can't comprehend it. Besides, it's not like Star Wars has never been heavily merchandised. The action figures, the novelty items and the comic tie-ins were about half of what made it successful in the first place.
