I understood that completely. It doesn't merit being repeated, more so when either that or the one shot kill is rendered moot by the very same factor Itachi's got going for him. In this case, his speed.
And I actually disregarded that because he's still capable of divulging the 60% of his attention to strictly killing the duo before he centers his attention wholly on the dragon. Simple as that.
Unless you mean to imply that the likes of Itachi would require the full brunt of his attention to do something that comes easy to an assassin?

Alright, I just wanted to clarify in case I came across wrong. Again, just trying to clarify. I want to make sure the situation is clear, because I read your first post as saying that because he wouldn't try and use genjutsu that Shurikan was completely out of the equation. I'm just saying there are a lot of factors at play here, and that I recognize that Itachi has numerous advantages and I don't want anything to get overlooked. I'm not even trying to sway votes, despite what it may seem. It would be easier for me going forward in Vin and Aang win, but I can make either result work. I just want to make sure Aang and Vin's abilities and any possible advantages are brought up, mostly for Vin since she's such an unknown character compared to Itachi.

Vin is definitely a more even fight with Itachi than Aang is. Maybe if Aang was older and a bit more experienced then he might have survived this fight. Vin is going to have to solo for the most part, which I don't see her having to many probably considering she has all her metals with her.

Well I mean if he's going to be hindered in one way, it's less effort going other routes in handling the situation.
I kinda thought I made that clear. Even explained it and all.
And it seemed to me that that's all Shruikan's doing, just inhibiting genjutsu in general and poking around inside Itachi's head a bit. So yeah, is the implication there he's still going to be a factor otherwise? After all it's strictly just the duo vs Itachi. As was how I took it.
Edit:
And honestly, I wouldn't want to debate the possibility of telepathic prowess being able to hinder or outright disrupt genjutsu. Just quite a bit to go there. So for simplicity's sake, I just went with a yes in general.
Though I could guess that one genjutsu in particular probably could bypass it because it's ridiculous? Tsukuyomi.

After all it's strictly just the duo vs Itachi. As was how I took it. I feel like I'm coming across as more argumentative than I'm intending to. You did make it clear how much or little you think being distracted will play into the fight. Especially after your second post. I didn't mean to come off as questioning it further. Shruikan is inhibiting genjutsu - but my intended method of him doing that was by him reaching out into Itachi's mind to try and prevent that. So, it's just that Shruikan's mental presences and active suppressing of this specific power is distracting. Very distracting, like trying to fight with a bad headache. You can ignore it and work around it, but it will hinder you. Shruikan isn't actively attacking him, since he has to work so hard to suppress genjutsu; but the very act of suppressing is distracting, weather or not Itachi actively attempts to use it. Now weather or not this is how it would work given the nature of the Naruto-verse's genjutsu and of Shurikan's mental abilities, irrelevant to this fight. It's something I put in, in hopes of giving Vin and Aang somewhat of a fighting chance, since 100% of Itachi's focus would outright murder the duo.

I still feel like just having 60% has pretty much the same end result as 100% though. If the comparison is what it is, akin to a throbbing headache, it's arguably negligible.

One point I feel the need to address.
Not really.
If she does try that, the only thing she would achieve, would be to make Itachi aware that her/their threat rate is higher than it immediately seems.
2 reasons for this:
1. The split second she starts putting pressure on the metal plate, Itachi will notice it and react. And considering that he has proven to have a reaction time in the 0.0001 second scale, even if he didn't do anything to prevent or counter the pressure of the plate against his head, he would still be able to kill both of them before the pressure reaches the point where it's lethal.
2. Itachi is actually capable of countering the pressure. The most basic example of this is the "leaf floating" chakra control exercise. Considering that Itachi would only need to do this for a (very)limited amount of time, and keeping in mind his, pretty much perfect, chakra control, that particular implementation of her abilities would pretty much be useless for Vin, if not outright counter-productive(considering that it would likely cause Itachi to increase their threat rating).

Itachi Uchiha with his speed will quickly kill Aang before he could even access his avatar state with his superhuman speed and various deadly techniques. As far as Itachi vs Vin she puts up a fight for a couple of seconds before Itachi ends the fight quickly. Honestly mentally Vin may not be ready for this fight with the whole husband and Starkiller thing that just happened. anyways. Great story arc.

Since Vin has her memories back, can she access her UWT exclusive abilities?

Since Vin has her memories back, can she access her UWT exclusive abilities? No. I don't want to include them because not everyone knows about the power ups the characters received in UWT
