Minnora's smile faded quickly. "Just... leave them to it," she murmured to her new friends, slightly turning her body away from the commotion. The roasted boar arrived just in time as more Romans began to fuss in the back of the tavern. They were being awfully loud...but Tord could be louder. "Aye," Tord motioned to Nora and Minnora "Let the Roman problem be dealt with by Romans. We are guests! Let us be guests and enjoy! Dig in, lassies!" Tord grabbed his share of boar with both hands and chomped away at it, taking several bites between guzzling down his ale. "Truer words have never been spoken!" She replied with a nod, sitting back to take her own share of the meal. "After all, it's good Roman hospitality! To provide a meal, drink and a show, haha! And I for one am not going to miss the opportunity!" She remarked, mouth full as she talked and chewed. "To Roman hospitality!"

Minnora was hesitant to eat, distracted by the two Vikings on each side of her. She watched them, appalled-- but also awestruck. Perhaps they WERE barbaric, then... But at least they were staying out of trouble. She joined them in their meal, nibbling at her portions while keeping a watchful eye on the unfolding situation across the room.

Tord replied with his cup held high, "And to one hell of a night with companions such as these!" Tord swung his arm around both girls, laughing as he did so. "Haven't had lassies in my party in some time. Good fortune, suppose," Tord turned his head toward Minnora and examined her. "How be your Boar...uh..MINNORA?", Tord nearly forgetting her name in his drunkeness. "You should try it with ale! By the Gods it's good!"

She tried to say this in a joking manner, even with her hints at him sobering up some.

Tord chewed on another piece of his boar as he finished his barrel of ale off. He gave a low burp, then leaned forward onto the bar, lowering his head slightly. "Besides... heard they be a slaughterhouse in there this time. Rome running out of sport or sumthin'. Using plain ol' criminals to give the audience a show. Thinking a drink is in order for that sort a show, eh?", he said as he ordered another pint.

"If you're so insistent on drinking, then drink to my success in the coming days. I'll be sure to put on a good show for you." Her voice had a certain edge to it.

Reminded him of a Viking, she did. "You... sure you're not a Viking, lass? Cause no Roman would let his lady fight in tha pit. And no Roman lady would ever step foot in it...", Tord froze for a moment, still locked onto her eyes, then reached for her drink and guzzled it down in one gulp. Rising to his feet, Tord busted into laughter and gave Minnora a big hug sure to lift her off the ground "HA HA, Minnora the Fearless! Damn right you'll give a good show. HAAA! I knew there was sumthin' bout ya sittin' back there quiet-like. You got a fighting spirit! You're my kinda woman, HA!"

Once she regained the ability to breathe and wriggled free from his grasp, she found the edge of her barstool and balanced herself on it. She laughed lightly, but more out of confusion and disbelief than actual amusement. Here she was, drinking with Vikings... And sharing a boar... And... Enjoying herself. Odd."No, I'm not Viking," she assured, attempting to mentally distance herself to some degree, "Pure-blooded Roman..." Minnora the Fearless... The title made her smile. "And you should save your praise until you see me in action."

"A toast to Minnora the Fearless! The best damn thing the Romans ever got, shame they let her pretty ass get away! HA!", Tord clanked his cup with hers then downed his ale. "Can't wait to see ya in action, girl. Love a woman in battle, ya know? Makes me wish you hailed from me homeland. Would of wedded ya by now, HA HA HA!"

"Pure blooded Roman, ye may be. Yet it is clear from yer name and yer attitude that ye would have made a fine Viking. Still, I consider this the beginning of a good, strong companionship, nationalities be damned! To Minnora The Fearless!" She added in to the toast, clanking her own pint to the others' drinks and slinging an arm around Minnora's shoulders to pull the Roman in for a hug of her own.
"And dun be afraid of the wedded thing, heh heh. I...I could keep rowdy guys in line, ha." She muttered with a hiccup, joking around still before she released the hug and downed another gulp of her drink.

@market
At first somewhat offput by the giant wolf, Reynard smiled and bowed to Dara in respect as he spoke courteously.
"I'm fine now. But something is wrong in the heart of this place. Before, they took pains to ensure this place was open to all. Its why they trade with so many. Now though, its as though they no longer care."
@inn
Whatever the party in the corner, by the commotion the man would yell.
"AND NOW I'M BEING HELD AT KNIFEPOINT! ARE YOU ROMANS AND YOUR DOGS ALL RECREANT AND THE SAME?!"
Swords were drawn as one of the guards spoke sternly.
"Weapons down...Now. Its the arena for all of you."
They were all under arrest. Seeing Numerius, the guard spoke.
"Ah, captain. We will take these troublemakers under your command. Orders are ALL rabble rousers are to be sent to the arena prison."
@manor
"Wise words. Now then, if you'll excuse me."
He rang a bell and called aloud.
"Your attention please? To all who are here, welcome and thrice welcome! The Heart of Rome beats all the more joyfully for your presence here and in days to come. In two days, we shall show the civilized world something unlike anything they had ever seen and you, all of you shall be at our side. To your good health, allies of the heart of Rome! And to Rome herself, wherever she may be!"
And leading the toast, he drank.

Numerius asked, smiling at the merchant. "You bloody drunk." He added afterwards. When the guards showed up, he was relieved, things were starting to get out of hand as more and more people joined in the little argument. Releasing the grip on his gladius, Numerius turned and faced the guards. "Aye, nice to see some friendly faces. Yes, this merchant was arguing about prices being stolen, and then threatened to attack the merchant he was doing business with." He turned around, looking at young man with the scars on his face who tried to help. "That one, with the scars and the red eyes, he's alright, just tried to help calm things down. He's with me, no worries." He said, moving closer to Reiko. Doing a full turn, he look around the inn, seeing if anyone else was causing trouble. The Viking were acting like...Vikings, but it's not illegal to act rowdy in an inn. "That'll be it."

She muttered with a hiccup, joking around still before she released the hug and downed another gulp of her drink. " I'm far from fearless," she wanted to say, but couldn't bring herself to interrupt their inherent NEED to toast to SOMETHING. Instead, she rolled her eyes playfully and drank with them, brushing off Tord's drunken ramblings. "AND NOW I'M BEING HELD AT KNIFEPOINT! ARE YOU ROMANS AND YOUR DOGS ALL RECREANT AND THE SAME?!" The continuing commotion across the room knocked her back to reality, causing her to feel suddenly guilt-stricken on behalf of her people. All of this over a bag of rotted grain? Surely it could be worked out through conversation... She turned her head towards the noisy Highlander and the drunk with his arm draped around him... That drunk... She had seen him before... Had he been here this entire time? Surely she would have spotted him when she was sitting alone... And now, he was the only one within a dangerous proximity to the Highlander... A quick scan of the room confirmed that there were other foreign merchants dissatisfied with their goods, but they looked too anxious to speak up. Considering the immediate arrest of anyone involved, that seemed to be a wise choice... "Something's not right..." she whispered to her companions, "Ought there be a trial of some kind before they get shipped off to the Arena?"

"Aye, I did mention that I thought something amiss. But...ye know Roman law better than I, I reckon. Are trials always held before the sentencing, hmm?"

We sure as hell don't send innocent people to the pits over a few bags of grain..." she answered quietly, "This is... extreme."
