"Tomorrow is never promised," Victoria replied honestly. "That's why we train the way we do. Why we live the way we do." Referring to herself and her pokemon, she threw her hair over her shoulder defiantly. "No offense, but we don't rely on others to save us. When it comes down to it, we've always pulled out own weight. Everybody snaps sometimes. It doesn't make it okay, but I get you." She knew things were going to change if she joined this ragtag group, but Victoria had no intentions of dissolving her resolve if she could help it.
"Victoria," Vincent interjected. "You still don't have to do this. You know that, right?"
"Tch. As if. I have a destiny to build here." Victoria pondered which of her allies to use in combat before deciding. "Well C'mon, muscle. I think you're obliged to choose first." No matter who he picked, she knew who she would start off with.

Umbreon had been a born battler ever since he hatched from an egg as an Eevee. "Someone's feeling better, and eager as ever I see. Alright Umbreon, you're up. Satoshi then did a rather strange thing: He closed his eyes.

Inara takes a step back, she kept an eye on Victoria. she wouldn't get in the way of a fight...she fancied a proper Pokemon battle, she used to be a huge fanatic after all. Though that's not what she was, so she would pass on a straight battle for now. She walks back over to Hazel as she gives a suggestion to break up Gale and Satoshi's argument.
"Agreed, we could all use some trust exercises." she says, before apologizing at Hazel for leaving, and to continue where she left off if she still wanted. "I hope we can all get along after this" she admits before shaking her head. This was pretty complex but she'd hold back Gale if he got int he way too much, she was who he could talk to- if Victoria and Satoshi wanted a fight to vent things out, it wasn't the worst idea. Seeing Satoshi close his eyes, she smirks. "Don't let him psyche you out Victoria, there's a real good reason he's doing that". She didn't give it all away, but it'd be good for critical thinking.
Meanwhile the Pikachu watches as Jacob and Houndoom get up for action after finishing her treat. Although nothing too big was happening right now, Pikachu gets up and takes a similar pose though she didn't look nearly as intimidating with a candy wrapper in her mouth- she seemed pretty childish for someone ninja trained, but she packed a punch if anyone wanted to see.

'Look what the cat dragged in,' Victoria thought, as Umbreon leaped forward; it didn't change her choice in the slightest. Then Satoshi closed his eyes.
"I'm not really the religious type, but if you think praying will help... Let's do this. Time to prove yourself, Machamp!" The four-armed pokemon stepped forward on brutish legs and sporting even nastier arms. His face emanated confidence and pride as he growled and flexed his bulging form. "Mahh-Chaaamp!!"
When Inara commented on Satoshi's sudden urge to pray, Victoria raised an eyebrow curiously. If there was a good reason for it, truly, wouldn't that reason in itself psyche her out, now that it was highlighted? She shrugged it off; no amount of head games would cloud her judgement... right?
Victoria's pokemon stood by Vincent's pokemon, eager with anticipation and hoping their friends would put on a valiant show. Vincent considered taking a few steps back.

What Victoria didn't know was that Satoshi wasn't praying, he was tapping into his aura powers and could see the battlefield perfectly. It allowed him to communicate telepathically with his Pokémon, speeding up reactions by precious seconds and he wouldn't have to shout commands. "Confuse Ray!" he comanded silently. On the outside Umbreon's eyes would glow as it used it's attack in an effort to confuse its opponent.

Kodi would finally let out the rest of his Pokemon to eat. Zero and Leo would dig in along side of Teddy. Midnight Kodi's Umbreon would walk up to Kodi and would rub his head on his trainers leg. Midnight would watch the battle with interest specially towards the fellow Umbreon. "Why can't we all just get along?" Kodi asked Hazel. He then looks down at his Pokémon, "Hey boy seems that Umbreon is a fighter to huh?"
"Umbre on!" His Pokémon replays.

Tommy agreed with Kodi's statement, going to sit next to him as Caterpie returned to his shoulder. "Can't believe they're just gonna battle here. I mean yea sure, we need to get to know one another and what not but if this 'hero' thing is going to take as long as Satoshi says, then I'm sure we will find out a lot about each other. Just hope the ninjas don't come back to find us still here, is all. Though..." Tommy paused for a second, watching the others intently "I haven't seen a Pokemon battle in awhile...tend to get too hung up over your own," Tommy laughed, petting Caterpie while keeping his attention on the others and Kodi.

"Well nobody asked you to be a her-" Gale's sentence was cut short by Victoria, once again, challenging Satoshi. Last time I ever defend her Gale thought to himself. I guess I better apologize.
"Sorry for overreacting, group." Gale told everyone out loud. He moved next to Inara, and stood next to her. Observing the fight, he instantly knew what Satoshi was doing when he closed his eyes.
"Hey, that's the same thing you do when you taps into your Aura powers." Gale whispered to Lucario, who gave him a reassuring head nod. He hadn't actually seen this being used by anybody else, hell, Gale barely could use it himself, and that was after being tutored by Lucario for a year or two. He suddenly got an idea.
"Yo, Inara, you wanna battle me?" He asked her.
Thinking it through, Satoshi was probably trying to gauge everyone's training abilities, and it's been a long time since Gale really got into a major battle. He had only ever challenged 4 gyms, losing to the last 1.
"If you don't want to, that's ok."

Vincent took a seat on his starter, Metagross, leisurely watching the fight. Metagross marched over to the other trainers on metallic pillars, along with the other combined eight pokemon of the two trainers. Commenting offhandedly, "I hope they know what they're doing. It's hardly appropriate, but then again... when is battling ever appropriate? At least, if they come back, we'll be warmed up and ready for action. And, I do mean at least."
Victoria didn't waste any time. As Umbreon made the first move, Machamp was close behind. "Fire Punch, let's go!" The brutish pokemon dashed in toward the dark foe. Taking the confusion ray head on, he pushed on in a focused attempt to strike his opponent with all four fists ablaze. If or when it landed, Umbreon's body would ignite momentarily, perhaps burning the foe.

It lasts two to five attacking turns and you have a 50% chance of hitting yourself and having your attack fail. This is determined by coin flip, as is snapping out unless it goes all five turns in which case out auto snap out. I've flipped the coin, you didn't hit yourself but you had no chance to snap out this turn. Your attack is launched as planned. Fire Punch has a 10% chance of burn, determined by a ten-sided die roll. You didn't get the required ten for burn. Satohi remained stoic as the big burly Pokémon charged ahead. So it had gotten through the confusion this turn, oh well. He waited for Machamp to get a bit before acting. "Dodge with Quick Attack Umbreon, then use Toxic." The benefits of telepathy showed as the command was issued and obeyed quicker than a normal Trainer and Pokémon could hoped to do so. Umbreon took off with a white streak behind him and stop about twenty feet away from Machamp, now facing its left side instead of its front or at least that's what would've happened if Machamp hadn't suddenly sped up and decked Umbreon. Satoshi was just glad it wasn't a Fighting type move, Umbreon could take a Fire Punch. Of course there was still the other half of his orders. Umbreon began to sweat off a purple haze which formed into a cloud and made its way toward Machamp, if it hit the Fighting type would be badly poisoned. To Victoria it would be clear that Umbreon was getting orders but Satoshi wasn't giving him out loud. Of course it seemed that Machamp had No Guard so it would hit anyway. It may be time to change tactics.

Victoria smirked, but kept her mind on the battle. Inwardly, she thought, 'My Machamp never misses!' She was glad for it too, the dark type seemed rather fast.
"Earthquake, full power!" If successful, Victoria's Machamp would throw up his arms and slam them into the ground in a show of overpowering strength. The ground would shake violently, and cracks in the ground would race toward Umbreon accompanied by white shockwaves. Whether or not the attack was successful, Victoria knew the poison would begin to take effect following Umbreon's retaliation.
To Victoria, it looked as if Satoshi had all but abandoned his Umbreon, but if that was his tactic, she wouldn't think twice about it until after all was said and done.

The attack seemed to backfire and Machamp ended up hurting itself, thanks to the lingering effects of Confuse Ray. Satoshi seized the oppurtunity for a clean switch. "Umbreon come back, Staraptor you're in." The swap complete Satoshi went silent again, his eyes were still closed. "Use Aerial Ace." Staraptor flew at its opponent, flipped in the air, then it became engulfed in streaks of white light and fliee into the opponent, disappearing before hitting it. That is, unless Victoria did something.

Machamp was confused and poisoned. Even with No Guard, it seemed like taking her chances and letting him continue would go against probability, and by extension, victory. As the ground cracked under Machamp's ground type assault, his foe went unaffected. Time to play it smart as well.
"Tch, Machamp... take a breather." A beam of red light shot forth and pulled the fighting type away from the flying type. "I'll get you some antidote when it's all over. Garchomp, you're up!"
Garchomp shot up from the crowd that was the twin's pokemon and hovered over the battlefield in front of Staraptor, growling ferociously. In the wild, Garchomp might make a snack out of smaller bird pokemon, but Staraptor was a bird of prey.
"Let's start off right with Stone Edge!" The aerodynamic pokemon would rush in like a shark through water. As it did, rings of white light surrounded it's body, eventually forming rocks which would launch themselves toward the bird of prey at high velocity, it's eyes aglow.
"She must have known how badly matched Machamp was against a flying type. I don't think being poisoned made it a choice." He was talking to Metagross and the other trainers. Metagross grunted in acknowledgment; it was a vastly intelligent pokemon. He stopped being surprised by his comprehension long ago and simply talked to the creature as he would another human.
OOC: That edit changed a lot! I didn't notice till after I posted, but it didn't change too much.

Satoshi wasn't sure why he used the code while speaking telepatically, but on practice it was rather simple: Dodge the Stone Edge with Quick attack, using speed to weave between the rocks. Then hit hard with a Close Combat, using the aded speed of the Quick Atack to add force to the blow. The dodging part was successful, only time would tell if the attack struck home.

'So fast!' Victoria thought, as the bird pokemon flew expertly through the offense. "Head on, Dragon Rush!" She barked, noting that the opponent ran through the attack instead of away from it like most other trainers. If that was how he wanted it, then Garchomp would take the attack with an attack of his own. She wasn't sure what exactly would happen as Garchomp's body became enveloped in blue spiraling energy and it came at Staraptor. It was likely they might both take damage of some kind. She did know, however, that whatever did happen, Garchomp's Rough Skin ability would come into play.
