Well, potential problems come to mind. I acknowledge that your final word as GM will decide what actually happens, a good thing. I see every pokemon being pushed to the limits of their theoretical ability. I just hope that means fast pokemon aren't untouchable and strong pokemon aren't impossible to make faint. The battle mechanics seem cool. Can we strategize with our attacks? Like combining drill peck with dig? Or sleep powder combined with poison powder by using one at a time, but really close together via timing? Or does it have to be along the lines of strictly one move at a time? How will PP work?
Heh, look. I said PP.

Heh, look. I said PP. Well your Poisonpowder and Sleep Powder example isa bad one as I'll be playing it like the games in terms of status ailments, the Drill Peck and Dig is a much better example. The essence of the question, that of combination attacks, and creative strategy with your moves is exactly what I want to see. Be creative with your moves and you will be rewarded. As for PP, I'm not going to bother with it, keeping track of it would be tedious in the extreme.

So, to settle things, can we have a little "test run" Nesh? I'll post a made up character using a move and you give a short response, just to shut us up . In this scenario, enemy trainer is using a Raichu, I'm using a Squirtle. Begin Bob looked both ways, but saw no escapes. Seems he has to fight the Raichu. Unfortunately his Pokemon was a water type, weak against lightning. He had to come up with a plan. "Go, Squirtle! Use Rapid-spin, while using it, use water gun!" His plan was for the water gun to propel Squirtle at Raichu with Rapid-spin, further adding to the momentum by adding the propulsion of the Water-gun. End

Does that mean he evolved? Why would that mean that? I misread your post lol. Squirtle can't learn Hydro-Pump, he has to be evolved into his next form.

Squirtle can learn Hydro Pump. it does so at level 40 in game, if you don't evolve it. Ignoring that though we're using anime logic where Hydro Pump for a Squirtle looks like this: link. It's basically a comination of Rapid Spin and Water Gun.

I used the edit function, specifically to write in my abilities. I have another copy, lucky me for rough drafts, but I'm a little bothered. No, alarmed.
Edit: I don't even know if I should modify an old post or make a new one. My rough draft is a little different, not that anyone would notice since the original post is gone!

Bio: Victoria and Vincent; fraternal twins distantly related to the Jenny family, where the gene for match sets were quite potent. The twins were locked in a never ending struggle to prove whom among them was better than the other. Even before they had pokemon, they raced and competed and compared. Desperate to find something one was better at, they found their calling when their parents gifted the duo with their first starters. Born to raise pokemon, Victoria was determined to impress others with her skill as a battle oriented trainer, while Vincent sought to amaze with the beauty of his pokemon as a developing coordinator. They'd discovered preference, and through this, their own unique paths. Searching far and wide, they assembled their own unique teams of allies, meeting and making many friends along the way.
Traveling together across the land, and still trying to outdo the other, the Archard twins trained their pokemon with vastly differing approaches. Victoria showed no remorse with her method. She trained her team hard and long, making certain that her crew were always devoting everything into getting stronger. While Vincent on the other hand utilized the power of love and positivity, allowing his team to build their strength the natural way, over time. Through gentle encouragement, his pokemon flourished in their own right, just as much as Victoria's through relentless effort. At the end of the day, though the twins differed greatly, their love for their pokemon was equal, and the pokemon themselves knew it.
Victoria: "Don't hold back!/Devastate 'em!"
Vincent: "I believe in you!/Through beauty!"
