Hey, what's up, guys? I've just been made a new admin and I was going to help apply some changes here. As you guys can see, I already changed the forum's title as voted upon by the community and created this "spankin' new" Announcements category. There may be some more changes to come, so stay tuned. Also, as mentioned in the past, if we really want to help change things for the better here, the community at large is going to have to play a bigger part to make it happen. So, if you have any suggestions, feel free to let us know.

Congratulations! The word announcement definitely caught my attention, that's for sure! Participation, to an extent, is likely going to be key. Times are changing and I'd like to see some growth!

So, like I said in the super secret Staff discussion, right after deciding which 10 people we would randomly ban, I think having a background image would be great. Nothing too flashy that takes away from the actual threads themselves similar to the old CBUB's background art. While having color for the boards would be nice, I think some simple background art would add a bit of liveliness to the site.

Ah, I just remembered that Website Issues was created in part to accommodate general site announcements, so we don't need a separate Announcements board. My bad. Hmmm ... who to randomly ban ... But yeah, just found out we can indeed add some background art. If anyone has some ideas on this, feel free to post them.

You could simply rename Website Issues as "Announcements" instead. Website issues would be a subcategory of announcements, though I'm not sure if there are any issues?

Nah, pey is still the lead admin. I'm just part of the staff.
But yeah, make more suggestions, folks. Including, apparently, a background that's easier on the eyes.

If it was just me, I could just have weird eyes. ^^' But yeah, the pure white's not the greatest, either. The dark theme, on the old EF, was good. I think bright colors may just "pop," on this monitor of ours. :/

I have, now, tweaked the brightness/contrast settings a bit, as well.

The solid white had something of a purgatory effect for me, which I guess can get bland over time by its very nature. I prefer something to nothing, so good job so far.

Looks like things are going good so far. Still, we could always improve things here, so if anyone has more ideas, let us know.

What type of ideas?

I guess, just ideas that help improve things, such as: - Promoting MagneticFox for others to see and (hopefully) join. For example, I've seen that ProBoards itself has a Facebook page for promoting their forums, so if anything other ProBoards members could see us there and want to join up. - I'd personally like to see more activity with the Official Matches. As I've probably mentioned ad nauseum at this point, heh, EF was really the only place that encouraged full scenarios for favored match-ups. This and the FPL are what made EF unique among battledome sites. If pnly there were a way to get people exited about making matches again ... - Speaking of the FPL, there's no real reason why something like it can't be created here, too. If you think about it, creating profiles for original characters like in the FPL isn't really all that much different from the profiles we've been making in The Database. Just more complex. Maybe some of you guys that were knowledgeable and passionate about the FPL might have some ideas for this.
