Infinity War, Black Panther and Ready Player One were all excellent films. I haven't watched any others in 2018 because I had assumed they'd be terrible. I'M LOOKING AT YOU, RAMPAGE AND PACIFIC RIM.
Now I'm just killing time until Deadpool 2.

I've actually heard that if you go into Rampage expecting nothing more than "This'll be a dumb popcorn flick where animals destroy buildings", it's really quite enjoyable. Similarly, I think I've only watched Infinity War and Black Panther in theaters recently, so I can't really talk.
EDIT: And A Quiet Place, which was incredibly well done.

I heard Jumanji was great and he did right with that sequel. Also critics said Rampage is a simple and fun movie. Rock is just out to make movies people enjoy and can have fun. I have no problem with that. On the other hand, what the hell is Sony thinking with this Venom movie being noncanon to the MCU. We get enough Marvel films as it is. Also I am 50/50 on Deadpool. I hope the second movie is good. Infinity War is Marvel's best movie. I still can't believe they successfully adapted it.

I think Sony's trying to cash in. I think the trailers look super stupid but I have a giant man crush on Tom Hardy so I'll go see it with MoviePass anyway. Deadpool 2 will probably be fun, but not worthy of too many rewatches, similar to the first one.

Tom Hardy is the Venom's movie only saving grace. I have yet to see a bad movie with him and I love Tom Hardy as a actor. Deadpool 2 looks 50/50. I hope Fox didnt already mess it up. If Venom is good that is great and better for Spiderman.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Jumanji was a pretty good movie, but I'm super biased for Karen Gillan. I just got back from vacation and saw Jumanji for the first time on the plane. It was exactly as my formula predicted.
Karen Gillan in a cutoff shirt and short-shorts was far and away the best part of that movie though. Her midriff deserves a special Academy Award or something.

Venom is going to be better than the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies but a noticeable step down from legit Marvel. It'll be fine, and the ending will probably be an overblown CGI mess. For Sony, this would be a win.
Also, I don't get why people love Tom Hardy. He's been in Star Trek, Batman and Mad Max and didn't particularly stand out in any of them, IMHO. He's not a reason to avoid a film, but not a reason to go see one either.

I see you are also super biased for Karen Gillan. Nice. As for Tom Hardy, he's been pretty good in other roles too. He's very good with his face. He can convey a lot of emotions through facial expressions. I'm not partial to it, but I respect it. I like him mainly because I'm half gay for him. Venom looks like hot garbage. I am a solid 10% excited for it and that's only because of Tom Hardy. |

I saw Deadpool 2 last night. It wasn't as good as the first but still a solid film. Some weird mixed tones which didn't quite work, but there were plenty of laughs and surprises. Definitely stick around for the post-credit scenes.

Tom Hardy stood out in Mad Max and was perfect for the role. In Batman he was a great Bane, people just did not like the voice. Deadpool 2 I heard is good so I can't wait to see it.

I saw Solo last night. It was fine. A few eye-rolls for the fan service, but overall it was better than I was expecting. Of course, I was expecting a complete clusterf*ck, so temper your expectations.

I think it was a bunch of fun, but I went in with similar expectations. It heavily surpassed them. I'm not putting it in my Top SW movies, but I'm kinda sad that it lost money, because I don't want Disney shying away from this stuff. There's a real cool universe for them to explore, and hopefully they won't shittily market every single movie they make. Legit, my friend didn't even know what the Solo movie was, until I said it was the new Star Wars movie.

Good to hear. I read from some of the critics that actually fairly review movies it was fun and good. They said because it takes place much earlier in his career, their really was no purpose or setup for another part of a story though when it ended. Not every movie needs to be a Marvel film and set something else up. I will go see it just because Glover I heard killed the Lando role well so damn good. Gambino is one of my favorite.
