The gameplay for Justice League Heroes I believed was some people's problems and wasn't like Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I couldn't get into it actually and dislike it myself for some reason. By the way as a wrestling fan WWE 2k14 has one of the best rosters that a WWE video game has ever had. So much fun. Also cudos to Microsoft for finally saying in June we won't need XBOX Gold for apps like Netflix, we will get more sales for Gold Members, and more.

Well, it has been quite some time, since I played the X-Men and Marvel games, so maybe my memory's hazy. I just finished it, though, and thought it was a blast. So glad I have the PSP version, as well. Wouldn't have gotten to play as Supergirl, otherwise. ^^ Both her and Black Canary are PSP exclusive characters. Not very often, you see the portable version have more content. Weird..

WWE 2K14 is really fun, but holy jeez do I wish they'd bring back the season mode from the old games.
My only real gripe with it is that Christian's superstar rating is ridiculously low. He's a four-time world champ, he's won so many midcard and tag titles it's impossible to count, he still regularly competes in the main event picture, he's hung with the best and all that gets him what? An 86? A point below R-Truth? Like, two above Jinder Mahal of all people?

I hate to tell you this but right now Christian really isn't that far above R-Truth. He constantly goes up and down in WWE from Midcarder to Main Eventer. I wish Microsoft gave us more of those old games on the 360 so I could replay Justice League Heroes myself.

Oddly enough, the PS2 version isn't available digitally, either.. If you can find a cheap used copy, it's on the list of backwards compatible Xbox titles. I bought the PSP version, because it works on my Vita. I think I've actually bought more PSP games, for my Vita, than I did for my PSP, when it was fully functioning. :/ Granted, I think I only have like, 10-15 physical PSP games. Not sure why I like using the Vita, so much more.. Maybe it's the OLED screen? xD Just wish Birth By Sleep was available... Probably gonna opt to buy Kingdom Hearts 2.5, at some point, so I can finally play it.

I wish Microsoft gave us more of those old games on the 360 so I could replay Justice League Heroes myself. R-Truth is a straight-up jobber these days, he just lost a two-on-one handicap match to their new Umaga at the last PPV. The most he's ever achieved is the US belt, anyway. Christian's never been a jobber. Granted, he's never really been booked to his full potential either, besides his heel World Title run back in 2011 (which lead to one of the best feuds and some of the best matches of the modern era vs Randy Orton, by the way), but he's far above Truth in status, and wrestling talent. Always will be. Besides, he's still booked as a strong upper midcarder by the WWE even today, which is nothing to scoff at for a 15-year veteran of the business. In fact, he was on the main event scene as recently as February at the Elimination Chamber, and he had a feud over the WHC last year too. The only thing holding him back is injuries.

I-I feel like my brain has melted.. Frickin' 2+ hours spent wandering around a dungeon/watching Youtube videos, to try and figure out which way I was supposed to go. -.- Legend of Mana was great, at first, but it's really starting to get annoying.. Also, doesn't help that I had to replay an hour or so, of that game, and will have to replay an hour or so of Xillia. Instead of swiping the Youtube ap, this morning, I swiped Legend of Mana closed. D'oh! Xillia, on the other hand, I don't really feel was my fault. Although, I probably should have saved, at some point, while I was in the town. :/ There are 2 exits, besides the one you come in from, in the town I'd just reached. I'm guessing I was supposed to take the other one, 'cause I went out, got into a fight, and got. Absolutely. Crushed. I didn't even realize what was going on, until it was far too late.. Tried to escape, with my only standing character, but to no avail. So... yeah. It's been a long, annoying day for gaming. But hey, at least Samardzija got his first win, this seas- oh, wait.. nevermind.

I just bought Agarest: Generations of War on steam for $5, and while part of the reason I bought it is because it's part dating sim, the other greater part is because it's supposed to be a 100+ hour long turn based tile RPG, which I love.

DON'T YOU EVER TALK SHIT ABOUT RON PERLMAN! DO YOU HEAR ME!? DON'T YOU EVER TALK SHIT ABOUT HIM AGAIN!
In other news, it's fun, but it is nowhere near as long or as in-depth or anything as X-Men Legends and MUA. However, that game does have my biggest claim to fame. I beat it in one sitting. It helps that it was like my 4th continued playthrough.

Lemme know how that game goes. Well, I'm about... 2 hours into it? I can't give anything beyond first impressions. Combat - I honestly can't tell you what combat is like, because the steam bundle comes with some DLC that gives you some high end weapons right at the start of the game - so I'm one hit KOing everything I run across, but it looks like player positioning on the map, the direction the characters are facing, and other things all influence your fights, so I assume there'll be alot of depth later on. The story is... well, it's so far pretty typical JRPG stuff and, at least so far is pretty weak. Seriously, I'd label the following a spoiler but it literally happens within the first 5 minutes of the game, but your main character, Leonhardt, deserts his country Grimadas to save a little girl. Now, this type of storyline isn't bad in itself, there's lots of potential in an officer in the army realizing his country is wrong/immoral and attempting to change it for the better, but why is this the very first thing you do? A bit of set up or exposition would be nice. The other thing is the intro doesn't really explain the current world, but sets up things that happened "thousands and thousands" of years ago. Ok, I'm an officer in Grimadas, who are we invading? Why? Who are these elves? Are they are war with Grimadas, is that what's going on? I feel like maybe there is a bit more of backstory in Zero (which is a prequel) but I'd hate having to play an entirely different game to know what is going on in this one. Though, this may change, maybe this is one of those games that throws you in the middle of the story and it'll slowly reveal itself over the course of your playthrough. The odd thing is that the world map is a series of points, so say from town A to town B you can see 3 points, this means that you will have 3 battles to clear before getting to town B. Though after you've cleared those battles you can move from town A and B freely. Also, towns aren't like in other RPGs where you explore a map, towns are just screens with a drawing of the map and options to go to the item shop, blacksmith, healer, etc etc. Basically, it's almost like a dating sim in gameplay (You simply go to the shop rather than move your character around town finding the ship) and your dialogue either increases or decreases affection with some of the girls in your party. The odd thing is, at least so far, you don't really get to make some choices. I mean, I made one choice and I gained a +1 affection with a girl in my party which was alright. But then in another dialogue scene I made no choices at all and lost a point with the same girl. There's also a meter that says "Light" and "Dark" and my one dialogue option moved it to the light side... but nowhere in the game does it explain what that meter is or does. Dialogue that was out of my control also moved that meter too, so I don't know if this is all stuff that'll start mattering more as I continue and I'm still in the "beginning" so it's all being just auto-decided for me or what. EDIT: The other thing is that there don't seem to be animated cutscenes. Cutscenes are just images of whoever is talking at the moment and some background noises. So what should be an epic fight is just a still picture of your character, sounds of sword swings and grunts, then it'll switch to an image of the antagonist, back to your characters, etc etc. DOUBLE EDIT: I realize that if I had paid the full price of $20 (or whatever it is) I'd probably hate this game, I'd have felt that maybe I overpaid for a RPG with no cutscenes or animation beyond still images. But for $5 it's a pretty good deal if the 100+ hr is close to the total play time. UPDATE: Oh, now I see where the dating sim portion comes into the game. There are "events" where your party seems to do normal everyday shit, like setting up camp. These are the times when you do the dating sim stuff of helping one girl over the other, complimenting her or asking more about her. Depending on what you say you lose or gain affection with that girl while also losing or gaining affection with the other girls in the group.

DON'T YOU EVER TALK SHIT ABOUT RON PERLMAN! DO YOU HEAR ME!? DON'T YOU EVER TALK SHIT ABOUT HIM AGAIN! I didn't even know it was him, until the credits rolled. I recognize the name, but I don't know from where... Maybe it wasn't bad, but it was certainly.. different. At least, when compared to the Batmen from the movies, more recent games, and cartoons I've seen.

^Attachment, open it in another tab to see it in a larger image size. It's probably better to view this and my post side by side to see exactly what I'm talking about. For a moment ignore the giant fox girl... actually don't. Look at her and then look at the background. The disparity between art styles in this game really baffles me. I mean, Sherufanir's art is pretty good, I'm not talking about the ridiculousness of her armor design and how super cleavage-y she is, I'm talking about the actual art itself. It's good, the shading, the coloring, it's all good, alot of care was taken in making sure the picture itself is good - with good reason since all dialogue is basically just images of the characters. Now look at the background. It's fucking disgusting. Let's start with the torches. Clearly they were drawn by themselves and then copy pasted into the image, which completely breaks the composition of the background art itself by standing out so much. And because they were drawn separately with their lighting effect added in afterwards they don't look like they are burning. Ideally you'd want to draw torches on fire instead of having what looks like yellow clay stuck on top of them. Had they wanted to do it that way they could have at least added a glow filter over the yellow parts of the torch - which I assume to be the flames - to make them white. Compare the torches in the above image to this: This image gives the illusion of being a realistic torch, with flames instead of a blob of yellow whatevers stuck on top. Now look at the textures on the wall, it's a brick texture that is repeated over and over - there's nothing wrong with that if you aren't paying attention or if the base texture was large enough and varied enough not to be noticeable. But it is, look above the circle that says DARK - NEUTRAL - LIGHT and you'll see the same arrangement of bricks repeated about 4 times. There are tiny variations, leading me to believe that at least someone drew it by hand, but it just looks dumb to have the texture repeat so closely like that. Similarly you can see repetitions in design all around the wall. The other bad thing about this method of drawing the textures of the walls is that it doesn't follow the contours of the walls themselves. Look above the doors, it is clear that there is a ridge/bump along the walls, you can see this is intended by lighting of the torch along the bottom section of the lighting and the shadow it casts on the rest of the wall. But the thing is that the textures are still flat and, if you look closely, break the illusion of depth as some of the "bricks" continue in straight lines when they should be following the contour of the walls. Thirdly is the vanishing point - though I admit I could be wrong on this point. By following the angle of the floor and the angle of the ridge above the walls you can see that the vanishing point is off to the far right of the image, going so far as to go "off screen" so to say. Yet none of the lines are actually following a real vanishing point, the artist simply imagined one in the distanced and sort of eye-balled it, alot of them don't match a single vanishing point in the distance. This is especially visible on the door iron-frames and on the door windows, they seem to be on a level plane, exactly 0 degrees. This gives the impression that the doors are being viewed straight on rather than at an angle like the rest of the hallways. But it looks like the artist attempted to give the illusion of an angle by simply re-sizing the doors as he pasted them. There are other examples were the background art looks bad compared to the character art, but I didn't take screenshots of those times.
