"We cooked one once. It was good. Fed the whole boat for almost a week. And no, I'm not joking." She chimed in.

Yoritomo laughed "I've noticed." gesturing towards them with his glass of wine, "But no offense taken, I spent all my life around other samurai and priests. they're not much for deep conversation either, most of the time." he drinks more of his wine and nods towards Reiko with a warm smile, "That's impressive, my friend. All the luck to you, may the spirits keep you safe." He turns towards Numerius again, "You seem distracted. Is everything alright?" Numerius looked at Yoritomo, and sighed. "Everything is just fine. I believe I've mentioned about our group being bigger when we first arrived? About the Roman gal, and her Viking friends?" He scratched his head. "It just seems odd that such a fair lady would be associating herself with such barbarian brutes. Especially since her father is held in such high regard, being Legatus and all." He said. "I've had bad experiences overall with the Viking kind, my Father's caravan being raided by brutes when I was but a lad." Perhaps this past experience was clouding his judgement...perhaps. Numerius decided against telling Yoritomo of the Senator sitting in close vicinity.

"Ah, no joke. It was as big as I say. If it wasn't for me craftsmanship, the boat woulda been sunk!" Tord said to Minnora, the trio reaching the arena exit. "Wish we had captured the beast. Would of made a fine stew!"

@manor
"Shoot them both. We will not tolerate the lies of those who enter the Masters house. Perhaps afterwards, we can determine your innocence in a Roman Court of Law."
And considering what exactly, constituted that nowadays, that usually meant the Arena.
And then crossbow bolts came flying, directed at both of their thighs in an attempt to cripple before the guards rushed in en masse.
As soon as the leader of the band gave the command to shoot, Zaynah was in motion. There was a window, but it was hard to tell if she could come out of a jump like that with her legs intact. One wrong landing, and her legs would be useless. For a mobile Hassassin like her like, movement was life. She didn't go for the window, but instead toward the attackers. There were four men aiming at the two of them, and their aim was to maim, not kill--for now. The moment she saw the guards hoisted their crossbows up to take aim and fire, Zaynah leaped on powerful legs and preformed a front aerial, tucking her legs in as she was completely airborne. In this way, she could increase her chances of avoiding the the bolts. When she came down, she would attempt to dive roll, low to the ground. Zaynah calculated her jumps so that when she came out of her dive roll, she would be withing striking range of the men. Assuming all went according to plan, she would stab both men who'd aimed their bolts at her legs just a moment before, one with her cris, the other with her scimitar. Her strikes were set to kill, both blade tips attempting to plunge themselves into their necks. All the while, she would position herself that the two guards who'd emptied their crossbows were between herslef and the men who had yet to do so. commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:FrontAerial.gif#/media/File:FrontAerial.gif <---(Like so, but with a tuck in the air) www.flashmavi.com/med_old/gif/gymnastics_floor_dive_roll_how_to_do_a_diveroll.gif <---(Followed by so, but starting in a crouch, not a full stand)

Twisting around both attackers she managed to get behind them. With dazzling speed she ran forward and prepared to break both their necks; all the while watching the majordomo to ensure he didn't run or call for help.

How has one like ya-self not been swept up by a man?" Tord said in a jolly manner.

Her eyes flitted to the ground in thought, her smile wavering slightly as she continued, "Father tried to have me tamed and married. Estranged me from the Arenas and my family. Likely disowned me by now..." She lifted her chin. "So I left. Came here." She finished this with a grand gesture to the city before them. The Roman girl turned back to Nora, making sure she hadn't strayed. "Oi, Nora, what about you?" she asked playfully, "You look to be of marrying age."

If only for a moment, looking up at the sky before her. "I suppose I am." She lowered her gaze, turning to Minnora. "Are you sure we're not related? Really sure? Our names, yes, but beyond that. I too, fled. I fled royalty. I'm of royal blood, among the Viking clans at any rate. I was to be married off to the strongest and most brutal warrior who won the right to be king. To reign as the lead warlord. To produce great warriors. I never wanted that. To birth and mold them. I wanted to be them. The great warrior, brutal and violent but also friendly off the battlefield. So I ran. I ran, and I never looked back. With a crew of warriors unaware of my true heritage. And this." She held up her giant warhammer.
"I made this specifically so I could know, so others would know, if and when I reached great warrior status. Many among the Vikings use axes, swords...less so, hammers. I stand out. The wounds of battle from blunt as opposed to slicing weapons. They'll know the score. Such is the intention. I don't know if I'll ever marry. A love of fighting and friendship seems enough to me."

Minnora froze, staring at Nora for a long moment before she laughed, placing a hand on her shoulder as the Vikings had so often done to her. "And you do quite the fine job of standing out! It's bigger than you are!" Leaning in closer, she broke into her sweetest smile. "Look... I, of all people, know that family is not always determined by blood," she continued sincerely, "Sometimes, they are made through experiences. And by that definition, alone, you and I might as well be twins-- Imagine! Two long-lost Viking princesses meeting one another at the gladiator pits in the heart of the Roman Empire! THAT sounds like a tale from which songs should be sung!" Minnora beamed her smile at Tord, amused that she had used one of his famous lines, and paused. "Have you known who she was all along?"

They had quite a story to tell. The biggest shock was learning who Nora really was. Viking Royalty... Don't see that much. "No... first I heard of it. Not much royalty between the clans. Never met any of 'em me-self." Tord paused for a moment, looking at both Nora and Minnora. "A fine band we have here. There will certainly be tales of our journeys for years to come!"

"Thank ye. That's how I wanted the hammer." She returned with a nod. "And I know. The crew I've sailed the seas with for years now...they're the family I envisioned in my dreams. No blood relations among them but I'd die for any of them, if it came down to that." She actually chuckled and smiled at that next part. "Aye, a grand tale indeed. Ye forgot the part where they conquered the arenas together though." "And no, I don't want to be judged as different. It's not like royalty with the Romans. Mostly just a title. The strongest, the bravest, the toughest, the most cunning among us...those are usually who rule. I threw that behind to join up on the front. I'm just a warrior now, among the others."

Yoritomo nodded and looked stern, "You mustn't let the actions of some individuals to sway your view on an entire people." He drank more of his wine, "There was once, when I was a child, when Ninja had tried to assassinate the leader of my clan. He managed to kill a few guards, my uncle being one of them, before he was cornered. He accepted his failure and turned his dagger on himself and took his life. The other samurai gave him a proper and respectful burial. 'Samurai must always show respect, even towards his enemies. Without this respect, we are nothing more than animals.' That is part of our code of Bushido."

"They are the best of us!" Tord said, talking about the Viking Royalty. "They keep the Warchiefs of each village united against any enemies who would dare challenge our claim to the sea! Sister of mine works for a King as an assassin. She's strong, like the two of you. Never married either, wanted to kill a thousand men before she wedded."
"Now... let us find this lake before the sky darkens. Up, up girls!" Tord proceeded to lift the girls onto his shoulders and make his way toward the city exit.
